Das Werk stellt das Aufkeimen einer Beziehung im Schutz einer elementaren Ursprünglichkeit dar. Es beschreibt das Ausgeliefertsein, die Bedrohung von außen und die Unsicherheit durch einen durchlässigen Untergrund.
Der Tisch als solcher nimmt wortwörtlich eine tragende Rolle in unserer Gesellschaft ein und ist Mittelpunkt sozialer Rituale, also auch der einer Beziehung. Im Laufe der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema wandelte sich die Ästhetik der Beziehung zu der darauffolgenden Arbeit die Demontage der Ästhetik. Nach und nach wird die Zusammengehörigkeit, die durch eine Beziehung und deren ganz individuelle Ästhetik entsteht zerstört.

Little by little, the togetherness that arises from a relationship and its very individual aesthetics is destroyed.
